Sosena Tezera is an early childhood educator, special needs resource consultant, author, and most importantly, mother to her amazing son. As a student educator, she advocates for students, especially those dealing with the unique challenges that come with developmental delays. Sosena continues to build her professional knowledge in the area of special needs, through various trainings and workshops.

She has actively participated in studies focused on autism, which focused on improving therapies to maximize the benefits to children with diverse abilities. With her son’s diverse abilities, Sosena has firsthand knowledge of the importance of early interventions, and how childcare can play a critical role in helping children develop their skills during their early childhood.

Filled with practical advice and the wisdom gleaned from her personal and professional education, Sosena provides a resource that will serve parents well as they learn to advocate for their child in the classroom and more. She also plays a role in teaching parents how to support and empower their children while navigating the complex realities of services and therapies for children with diverse abilities. Sosena and her son have also participated in campaigns meant to encourage inclusion and acceptance of children with a variety of abilities. Empowering Children with Diverse Abilities: 8 Steps to Build Your Child’s Developmental Skills is her first book.

Currently, Sosena lives in Canada and continues to work in the field of special education.
